Application

These reducers are used as mechanical devices for the manual or electro-mechanical drive of pipe shutters or as pre-gears for worm gearboxes.

If the worm gearbox cannot reduce the closing speed of the pipe shutter sufficiently or if the available amount of input torque cannot be increased by the worm gearbox to the amount of output torque required to open and close the pipe shutter, then a suitable cylindrical gearbox is installed in front of the worm gearbox.

Performance

The cylindrical gearboxes of our production are robust constructions, easy to handle and maintain and long-lasting if used correctly and for the purpose for which they are designed.

The main characteristics of cylindrical gearboxes that differentiate gearbox types are the magnitudes of maximum output torques, transmission ratios, axial distances, overall dimensions and connection dimensions at the input and output of the gearbox.

The gears of the gearbox have straight teeth, and the shafts that carry the gears rotate over the rolling bearings. The connections at the inlet and outlet of the gear unit comply with DIN 3210 and ISO 5211, respectively.

The calculation of the gearbox was performed on the basis of the latest knowledge and a modern method with an input speed of max 100 (rpm).

We make two types of cylindrical gearboxes, as follows:

– coaxial (input and output shaft axes coincide) and

– gearboxes in which the axes of the input and output shafts are parallel.

Material

Cylindrical gearbox housings are made of structural steel by welding.

Gears and shafts are made of steel for improvement and are appropriately heat treated.
